About The First Baptist Church
The First Baptist Church in McKinney has served the community since 1882, when it was organized by Rev. A. R. Griggs. Rev. F. G. Davis became its first pastor, and the congregation was originally named Second Baptist Church before later becoming First Baptist Missionary Church. During Rev. R. Curry’s pastorage, a new church building was built in 1894. The church is dually aligned with the Baptist General Convention of Texas and the National Baptist Association. Weekly gatherings include Sunday worship, Tuesday prayer sessions, and Wednesday Bible study.
