Churches in Troup, TX

For a first visit, it is wise to contact the church before going, since only a few churches share Sunday service times. That is especially helpful if you are choosing between congregations in similar traditions, such as the Church of Christ churches or the Baptist churches. Families should also ask directly about children’s ministry, youth group, or small groups, since those programs are not shown for churches here. If you are drawn to a particular tradition, start with that fit: Martin’s Chapel Nazarene Church for Nazarene worship, First Baptist Church of Mixon or East New Hope Baptist Church for Baptist congregations, or Assembly of God Church for an Assemblies of God setting.

What stands out is the range of Christian traditions represented in a relatively compact church landscape. Church of Christ congregations are especially prominent, and several descriptions emphasize biblical teaching, the teachings of Jesus Christ and the apostles, and autonomous congregational life. There is also a noticeable blend of denominational and tradition-rooted churches, from Baptist and Nazarene to Deliverance, Cumberland Presbyterian, United Methodist, Assemblies of God, and Church of God.
