About St. Nektarios Orthodox Church
St. Nektarios Orthodox Church is a mission parish of the Diocese of the South serving Ellis County and surrounding communities. The parish welcomes visitors to experience the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through liturgical worship conducted entirely in English. Members travel from Waxahachie, Midlothian, Ennis, Red Oak, Cedar Hill, Grand Prairie, Lancaster, and nearby areas to participate in services that unite the faithful in communion with God and the saints of all ages. The church invites all to "Come and see" the beauty and richness of Orthodox worship, which serves to draw people into a living experience of the triune God and a profound sense of divine presence.

Dress Code: Not specified — please contact the church directly. Service Format: Sunday Divine Liturgy begins at 9:30 a.m., preceded by Hours at 9:10 a.m., with coffee hour following. Saturday Great Vespers are offered at 5:00 p.m. (confession available some weekends). Wednesday Vespers are held at 6:30 p.m. outside of Great Lent and during Lent with a potluck following. Visitor Tips: All are cordially invited and encouraged to join services of worship. While Holy Communion is reserved for prepared Orthodox Christians, visitors of all backgrounds are welcome.
