About St. George Orthodox Christian Church
St. George Orthodox Church, part of the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America, welcomes both longtime Orthodox Christians and those new to the faith in St. George, Utah. The church emphasizes a personal, living expression of the ancient Christian tradition rooted in apostolic teachings and the early Church Fathers. Visitors are invited to experience the contemplative worship of the Divine Liturgy and to join the community for coffee and conversation following services. The parish is also undertaking an Orthodox Village building project to create a spiritually dynamic environment where the community can explore Orthodox Christianity and grow in faith together.

Dress Code: Not specified — please contact the church directly. Service Format: Orthodox worship involves extended standing throughout the service, frequent sign-of-the-cross gestures, veneration of icons, and occasional prostrations; services flow continuously without formal breaks, and visitors may arrive at any point during the hour-long Matins (Orthros) that precedes the Divine Liturgy. Visitor Tips: First-time visitors are encouraged to speak with Father Mykel if they have questions about communion or other aspects of worship; those not yet Orthodox Christian should not approach the chalice during the distribution of Holy Communion; arrive whenever convenient as the 10 a.m. Divine Liturgy time is an educated guess for when the combined services will reach that point.
