Churches in Middlebury, VT

For a first visit, it is worth checking directly with a church before you go, since few churches share Sunday service times. Grace Baptist Church does note a Sunday morning gathering at 10am, which can be helpful if you want a clearly stated time. Families may want to look closely at congregations with kids ministry, and those hoping to connect beyond worship can look for youth group or small group opportunities. Traditional worship is the clearest style among churches that describe it, so visitors who appreciate familiar liturgy, hymns, or a more classic service may find several good fits. Expect the strongest cues to come from each church’s stated identity: welcoming, Open and Affirming, Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, Congregational, Episcopal, or non-denominational.

What stands out is the steady language of welcome and service across different traditions. The Congregational Church of Middlebury emphasizes an Open and Affirming identity, Valley Bible Church names worship, fellowship, evangelism, biblical teaching, and community service, and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary speaks of serving the local area. HOPE also reflects a strong community-care presence through work addressing poverty’s effects in Addison County since 1965.
