Founded on September 18, 2001, by an interracial group of ten friends led by retired Pastor Liz Emrey, the church describes its welcome as extending to everyone, including LGBTQ+ individuals, addicts, alcoholics, ex-offenders, and their families. The congregation moved to its East Market Street location in 2014. Its ministries have included feeding about 300 people four days a week through the Food Ministry, jail ministry, a movable homeless shelter, and emergency assistance.
