About Trinity Episcopal Church
Trinity Episcopal Church is a historic congregation established in 1919 as a diocesan mission in Charlottesville's historically Black neighborhood of Vinegar Hill, now located on Preston Avenue since 1972. This diverse, multicultural community is deeply rooted in racial justice and reconciliation work, spanning over a century of bridge-building across racial barriers in the city. The church draws on rich Christian traditions from around the world, featuring global music in worship and maintaining active ministries including Bread & Roses for environmental and economic justice and the White Feather Historical & Educational Project. Sunday worship takes place at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary and online. Trinity welcomes all people regardless of age, race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, or economic status, offering faith formation programs, meaningful ministry opportunities, and fellowship for those seeking a church home.
