About Hillcrest United Methodist Church
Hillcrest United Methodist Church, located at 2208 Lafayette Boulevard in Fredericksburg, Virginia, was founded in 1945 when a small group of eleven people gathered to establish a Methodist presence on the southern edge of the community. The church traces its origins to a meeting at the abandoned Rainbow dance hall and held its first service in the newly constructed building on May 19, 1946. Today, Hillcrest serves as a spiritual hub offering worship, fellowship, and community engagement through multiple ministries including music programs, youth groups, small group Bible studies, and mission-focused activities. The congregation welcomes visitors and maintains an active calendar of worship services, educational groups, and seasonal events such as Vacation Bible School. With staff leadership including Pastor Rev. Justin L. Williams and a dedicated lay leadership team, the church embodies its mission to give hope, create community, and bring purpose through Christ's salvation.
