About Holcomb Baptist Church
Holcomb Baptist Church in Lynchburg was organized in 1871 by 35 men and women. The church describes its mission as being a place where all are invited to worship God in spirit and in truth, and its vision includes saving the lost, feeding the hungry, and providing clothes for the naked. In March 2023, Constance A. Wright was installed as pastor, becoming the church’s first female pastor. Holcomb also serves the community through a weekly Peanut Butter and Jelly Ministry for Lynchburg Daily Bread. Pastor David S. Stewart, who served as senior pastor for 22 years, now serves as Pastor Emeritus.
