About Sacred Heart Catholic Church
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located in Norfolk, Virginia, has served as a pillar of the Catholic community since its establishment in 1894 as the second Catholic parish in the city. The parish is housed in a beautiful Florentine Renaissance-style building constructed in 1925, featuring Italian marble altars, Carrara marble statues, and stunning stained glass windows created by Franz Mayer & Co. of Munich. Under the pastoral leadership of Father Paul Muyimbwa since 2016, Sacred Heart welcomes a diverse community called to live out the Gospel through word, worship, community, and service. The parish offers multiple daily and weekend Mass times, religious education programs, youth ministry, and various volunteer opportunities through ministries coordinated by lay faithful and religious staff.
