About Grace & Holy Trinity Episcopal
Grace & Holy Trinity Church is an inclusive and life-transforming Episcopal parish located in downtown Richmond on the Virginia Commonwealth University Monroe Park Campus at 8 N. Laurel Street. Committed to fostering an affirming, Christ-centered connection with the diverse community that downtown Richmond offers, GHTC welcomes visitors of all backgrounds. The parish offers two Sunday worship services featuring Holy Eucharist: a spoken service at 8:00 a.m. in the chapel and a choral service at 10:30 a.m. in the main church, with the latter available via livestream. The church is deeply family-friendly, providing nursery care for infants, Sunday School for children Pre-K through 2nd grade, and a welcoming environment for families. GHTC also offers weekday services including Morning Prayer on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as community outreach through the Red Door Ministry, which provides lunch and prayer services on Fridays.

Dress Code: Some parishioners wear a dress or a suit and tie, while others choose business casual attire. Service Format: Episcopal worship services are rooted in liturgical traditions and follow The Book of Common Prayer, typically including New and Old Testament readings, sacred hymns, prayers, a sermon, confession and assurance of forgiveness, and the Holy Eucharist. All baptized Christians regardless of denomination are welcome to receive communion. Visitor Tips: Parish Breakfast is offered Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall (except during summer), and coffee hour follows the 10:30 a.m. service. Free Sunday parking is available at the Virginia Commonwealth University West Main Street Parking Deck with QR code validation from the Sunday bulletin. Ushers are stationed at the entrance to provide service bulletins and assist visitors, and the church offers assistive listening devices including earbuds, headphones, neck loops, and Bluetooth-enabled options.
