About Main Street United Methodist Church
Main Street United Methodist Church, founded in 1824, is one of the oldest Methodist congregations in the Shenandoah Valley and remains an active community of faith in downtown Waynesboro. Located at 601 West Main Street, the church welcomes visitors with open arms and offers a full range of ministries including Christian education, community outreach, and fellowship opportunities. The fully accessible building features an elevator serving all three floors and houses a highly-regarded preschool. Sunday mornings include contemplative Morning Praise & Prayer at 8:30 a.m., Sunday School classes for all ages at 9:30 a.m., and a Traditional Worship service with chancel choir and organ at 11:00 a.m., with Holy Communion celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and other special occasions.
