About Newman Roman Catholic Comm
Newman Catholic Parish is a vibrant Catholic community in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, serving approximately 275 families with a special focus on campus ministry for the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and Chippewa Valley Technical College. Founded in 1969 by Bishop Freking, the parish is housed within the Ecumenical Religious Center (ERC), a collaborative Christian ministry space located adjacent to the UWEC campus. As a Eucharistic community rooted in prayer, learning, service, and hospitality, Newman Parish invites students, faculty, staff, and area residents to experience Catholic worship and spiritual growth. The parish offers a welcoming environment where members center their lives on Jesus Christ through regular liturgical celebration, faith formation, and opportunities for community service. Visitors are encouraged to join the parish for Mass and to explore the various ministries and activities that sustain this active faith community.
