About St Marys Of The Angels Education Center
St. Mary of the Angels is a Catholic parish in Green Bay, Wisconsin, rooted in a rich Franciscan heritage spanning over 125 years. Originally established in 1898 as a Polish Catholic congregation, the parish was entrusted to the Franciscan Fathers in 1899 and renamed St. Mary of the Angels after the beloved Portiuncula church in Assisi, Italy, the cradle of the Franciscan order. The parish embraces the Franciscan tradition through its mission to be "Grounded in Christ," emphasizing Gospel brotherhood, contemplative prayer, humility, and service to the poor and marginalized. Today, St. Mary of the Angels continues this legacy as an active faith community guided by a Parish Pastoral Council that meets regularly to shape parish life and initiatives.
