About St. Nicholas Orthodox Church
St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, located in Kenosha, Wisconsin, is a parish of the Orthodox Church in America under the Diocese of Chicago and the Midwest. Founded in 1912 by Slavic immigrants who sought a spiritual home, the church has served its community for over a century. The current church building, completed in 1930 and designed by Archpriest James Piateski, was designated a Kenosha local landmark in 1987. Under the pastoral leadership of Father Joseph Whittaker, the parish welcomes visitors to participate in the ancient liturgical traditions of Orthodox Christianity, offering Saturday Vespers and Sunday morning services that follow the Eastern Christian calendar and worship practices.
