About Sherman Av United Methodist Church
Sherman Avenue United Methodist Church is a multicultural community of faith located on Madison's northside, founded in 1953 and celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2023. Led by Reverend David Hart, III since 2016, the church is rooted in Wesleyan theology and emphasizes discipleship, belonging, and service to neighbors near and far. The congregation gathers for Sunday morning worship at 9:30 a.m. both in person and via Facebook, featuring a vibrant music program with praise teams and musicians playing guitar, organ, piano, drums, saxophone, clarinet, violin, and more. Sherman Avenue UMC welcomes all people to experience God's love and grow as followers of Jesus Christ in a community dedicated to making a difference and touching lives through the Gospel.
