About First Congregational Church
First Congregational Church in Rock Springs is a United Church of Christ congregation with roots stretching back to 1881, making it the oldest congregation in the community. The church welcomes all people regardless of background, faith history, sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability, having voted to become an Open and Affirming congregation in 2014. Worship services on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. feature the church's historic pipe organ and grand piano, followed by a coffee hour. Beyond Sunday worship, the congregation actively serves the community through ministries including God's Open Hand Food Pantry, the Broadway Bargains Thrift Shop, a community garden, and various donation drives. The church is committed to being a safe and inclusive space where all are invited to participate fully in the life and ministry of this faith community.
