About St Peter Orthodox Church
St. Peter Antiochian Orthodox Church is a welcoming Orthodox Christian parish located in Madison, Mississippi, between Highway 51 and Old Canton on St. Augustine Drive. Founded as a Bible study in the early 1970s, the church joined the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese in 1987 and has grown to approximately 140 members. Led by Rev. Fr. Herman Lasseter with assistant clergy and deacons, St. Peter's serves a vibrant community that includes both converts from Protestant and Catholic backgrounds as well as members with deep Orthodox heritage from the Middle East and Eastern Europe. The parish is known for its active Sunday school program for children, engaged men's and women's groups, and commitment to community service and church beautification. Visitors are warmly invited to experience Orthodox worship, prayer, and fellowship with the parish community.
