About St Stephens Orthodox Church
St. Stephen's Orthodox Church in Franklin Square, New York is part of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, a tradition founded by St. Thomas the Apostle in AD 52. Established in 1986 with just 16 families, the parish has grown to over 60 families and relocated to its current home at 858 Roosevelt Street in January 2014. The church celebrates the Holy Qurbana (Divine Liturgy) as the center of worship and welcomes visitors to join the parish community in prayer and celebration. Led by clergy from the Northeast American Diocese, St. Stephen's serves the Long Island and surrounding area with liturgical worship rooted in Eastern Orthodox tradition.
