About Calvary Lutheran Church
Calvary Lutheran Church has served the Hauppauge community since 1965 as part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The congregation is deeply committed to radical hospitality and radical inclusion, explicitly welcoming people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, races, ethnicities, abilities, ages, and life circumstances. Worship at Calvary honors a rich liturgical tradition while engaging the contemporary world, featuring hymns led by the church's Minister of Music and cantor, with services held on Sundays at 10 AM. Beyond worship, the church offers educational opportunities from infancy through adulthood, youth group gatherings, nursing home ministry, and meaningful participation in community justice work. The congregation has recently embarked on the Reconciling in Christ journey to deepen its public witness to inclusion and has partnered with national organizations to support LGBTQIA+ affirmation and advocacy.
