Churches in Highlands, NC

For a first visit, it is a good idea to check directly with the church before you go, since few churches here share Sunday service times publicly. The congregations described emphasize welcome, tradition, fellowship, and faith, so you can expect a fairly church-centered visit rather than one built around widely advertised programs. None of the churches noted here mention kids ministry, youth group, or small groups, so families or visitors hoping for those should ask ahead. If you are exploring by tradition, you might start with First Presbyterian Church, Highlands United Methodist Church, Episcopal Church-Incarnation, Community Bible Church, or one of the Baptist congregations.

What stands out is the range of traditions within a compact church landscape. Long-rooted congregations such as Highlands United Methodist Church and Episcopal Church-Incarnation sit alongside communities like Community Bible Church, which speaks of growth and sharing Christ’s hope locally and globally. The overall feel is welcoming, traditional, and relational, with several churches presenting themselves as communities of faith open to visitors.
