About St Nicholas Orthodox Church
St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in DuBois, Pennsylvania is a welcoming Orthodox community that traces its roots to 1978 when it began as a mission under spiritual guidance from the Archdiocese. The parish established its first permanent home in 1980 and in April 2020 relocated to a newly acquired former Roman Catholic church building at 301 South State Street, which continues to undergo Orthodox renovations. Services are conducted in English, making the tradition accessible to the local community. The church is administered together with Saints Peter and Paul Church in nearby Urey, both served by Fr. Mark Meholick. Sunday worship alternates between Divine Liturgy and Obednitsa with Communion, offering a complete sacramental experience for visitors and members alike.
