About St Elizabeth Orthodox Church
St. Elizabeth Orthodox Church in Murfreesboro is a mission parish of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese established in 2004 by five founding families seeking to bring Orthodox Christian presence to Rutherford County. Named after Saint Elizabeth the New Martyr, the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna of Russia, the parish celebrates the ancient Christian tradition while remaining new to the community. The church emphasizes a sacramental vision of life that engages both mind and body in worship, utilizing icons, candles, incense, and the Divine Liturgy to proclaim Christ's incarnation and invite transformation. Visitors will experience Orthodox worship that differs notably from Western Christian practices, featuring elements rooted in the early church tradition and the fullness of apostolic faith.
