About Friends-Burlington Friends Meeting-Quakers
Friends-Burlington Friends Meeting is a Quaker faith community rooted in the Religious Society of Friends' core principles of peace, equality, simplicity, integrity, and community. The meeting welcomes all people, recognizing that each person has within them the inner light of the Divine. Rather than traditional clergy leadership, ministry emerges from the silence during worship, with any who feel spiritually called to speak doing so. The community gathers for silent worship on Sundays from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and Wednesdays from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, with remote participation available via Zoom. As an active faith community, the meeting engages in social witness and justice work, informed by Friends' historical commitment to abolition, women's rights, religious freedom, and prison reform.
